Engagement & wedding rings

Engagement rings

A ring designed with you at the table in Canberra City: a natural diamond or a coloured stone, chosen with your own eye, in a ring nobody else will have.

How it works

Four steps to the ring

More about custom design
  1. 1

    The conversation

We start by getting to know you and having you tell us a bit about who we’re making this very special piece for. During this conversation we get a better understanding of what they might like and what sort of taste they have based on what you tell us about them.

  2. 2

    The stone

We show you different gemstones until we find the one you think they’ll love. We can also incorporate your own stones into their piece or source other options for you if you don’t find what you’re looking for in our collection.

  3. 3

    The design

Once the stone is chosen, whether it’s a diamond or coloured stone, we will sit together with you and design the perfect piece. Your vision paired with our expertise will result in the piece that brings a smile to their face every time they look at it.

  4. 4

    The piece

We make the ring to a date agreed with you, so it is ready for the moment you have planned. When it is finished you come in to see it, and we go through its care and paperwork before it leaves with you.

Wedding bands

Wedding rings for you both

Your wedding band is the ring you will wear every day, so it should be exactly right. There is no set range to choose from. Bring your ideas and we design it with you, often alongside the engagement ring so the two sit well together.

Plain or set with stones, in yellow, rose or white gold or platinum.

Mokume Gane wedding bands

Two rings from one billet

Mokume Gane wedding bands are one of the studio's specialties: layers of differently coloured gold, fused and worked until the pattern appears, so no two rings are alike. A pair can be cut from one billet and share a pattern without being identical.

Questions

Things people ask

Do I need an appointment?

Not to browse or to talk. For a design consultation it is worth booking a time so the design table is yours; see the Visit page.

How long does a custom engagement ring take?

It depends on the stone and the design. We agree a date with you before the making starts, and if you have a proposal in mind, tell us the date and we will work back from it.

Can you use a family stone or old gold?

Yes. Bring it in. Heirloom stones can be reset and old gold can be refashioned into a new ring, which also brings the price down.

Natural or lab-grown?

We work with natural stones by choice and lab-grown can be sourced upon request.

Do you deliver outside Canberra?

Yes. Pieces are shipped across Australia and overseas, and much of the design conversation can happen by video.

Can you make a Mokume Gane engagement or wedding ring?

Yes. We make Mokume Gane engagement rings and wedding rings. A pair can be cut from one billet, so the two rings share a pattern without being identical.
